The Gill Marine footwear range offers excellent design, quality and, as you would expect from the technical brand, a host of practical performance features. Our footwear collection offers all this and more, from hand-sewn construction, marine grade leathers and impact absorbing outsoles that expel surface water. The brand’s product development principles have been at the forefront of this project – extensive research, consultation and testing to ensure the product offering is highly fit for purpose, selection of the best possible materials available. The footwear range offers leather deck shoes and performance trainers. The common feature across all of the footwear styles is the sole technology. A non-marking and non-slip outsole with unique repeat design surrounded by deep multi-directional water dispersing channels to prevent aquaplaning and an 80% contact surface ensures that the grippy compound always stays in contact with the deck. The leather deck shoes offering is formed by a concise range of deck shoes encompassing the Baltimore which is a classic 2-Eye design; Newport offering a cup sole for improved traction and stability and Auckland provides a modern boot style. A choice of classic and contemporary shades are available across the range. The Baltimore and Auckland deck shoe styles are constructed from a water resistant marine grade leather upper featuring a full tubular, true moccasin construction that is hand sewn on the last and the internal EVA heel insert offers cushioned impact protection. To finish off the styling a 360˚ rawhide leather lace and Gill branded non-corrosive eyelets have been added. Newport offers superior comfort using a cemented and side stitched cup sole for improved traction and stability with a full length internal EVA insert for unparalleled underfoot cushioning. Water resistant marine grade leather is complemented by breathable mesh panels to circulate air, allowing these shoes to be worn with or without socks. Furthermore a padded tongue, collar and a removable cushioned insole further add to the comfort factor. The Deck Tech Race Trainer is designed for sail racing offering fantastic grip and superb protection using Gill’s exclusive full-contact, non-slip performance outsole for exceptional grip and traction in wet conditions. The upper is made of a non-absorbent, quick-drying construction featuring reflective piping detail and increased protection is offered in the high wear toe area that is 100x more durable than standard leather. A removable EVA anti-microbial insole reduces odour, is quick-drying and impact absorbing. Further cushioning and support is achieved through the use of a lightweight Phylon midsole. The Pro Racer Performance Trainer offers the highest specification and is the lightest product within the footwear range. It features a unique simplified lacing system with protective lace cover specifically designed to reduce the risk of getting caught whilst moving around the deck. In addition to this the Pro Racer Performance Trainer features all of the same attributes as the Deck Tech Race Trainer.
