GILL ARE DELIGHTED TO BE THE TECHNICAL CLOTHING PARTNER TO THE NOTHING'S IMPOSSIBLE INDIAN OCEAN ROWING CHALLENGE

Posted by gill_admin on 24th Apr 2015

We are delighted to announce that we will be the Technical Clothing Partner to the charity Indian Ocean Rowing team; Nothing’s Impossible.

THE CHALLENGE Ashley and James will row 3600 miles across the Indian Ocean from Geraldton, Western Australia, to Port Louis, Mauritius. Ashley is severely epileptic and on average has a seizure once to twice a week. This will add yet another unpredictable dimension to an already very difficult challenge. The Indian Ocean is one of the least rowed oceans in the world with only 41 recorded attempts. Only 19 attempts have been successful and only 4 of these by a pair.

THE ROUTE The route Ashley and James will take will start from Geraldton in Western Australia and see them row 3600 miles across the Indian Ocean to Port Louis on the island of Mauritius. There are many challenges Ashley and James face, from unexpected weather to Ashley’s epilepsy. However, if all goes to plan, the pair aims to break the record for the crossing by a pair - which currently stands at 85d 2h 05min.
