Bringing two worlds together

The Offshore Jacket embodies the meeting of two iconic British brands, from two very different backgrounds, coming together to present a masterpiece of design and durability. We have a proud heritage of product innovation and customer satisfaction originating back from inception in 1975, and on a visit to the Private White factory in Manchester, the teams realised shared roots and passion in British manufacturing.

With roots in the Manchester cotton industry and a rich garment-making heritage, Private White V.C. is a brand that leads by example and takes quality, provenance and craftsmanship very seriously when crafting esteemed clothing.

The Offshore Jacket

Our collaboration with Private White V.C. has allowed us to create a new jacket that combines both our expertise.

Inspired in part by our bestselling OS2 jacket, the Gill and Private White Offshore Jacket is a high performance, breathable and water resistant Ventile® jacket. This densely woven cotton fabric was first developed for pilots in WW2, and combines perfectly with our breathable thermal mesh, which fully lines the Offshore Jacket throughout.

100% waterproof with fully taped internal seams, the Offshore Jacket comes with a four-piece removable hood, side darts and copper cord adjusters.

For those days with particularly testing weather, the jacket has a grown on overlapping face guard with stud fastening. The jacket comes with etched copper rivets on back neck and internal hanger loop, and this military grade copper hardware is made by from RIRI of Switzerland for additional robustness.

There are plenty of spaces for gadgets and belongings too, with pocketing similar to Gill’s OS2 jacket. Twin shaped patch pockets with welt opening and concealed zips, and two deep cargo pockets with stud secure flaps and side entry, allow for ample practicality and wearability.
