Our Sustainability Commitment

The Gill legacy has been crafted over generations, based on an ethos of continual improvement and progression.

As part of this commitment, we are making significant efforts to reduce our impact on the environment and increase our range of sustainable products. Rather than simply talk about this commitment however, we have actively developed products that use recycled materials.

This June saw the launch of The Sustainable Edit, a collection of our most sustainable products to date, made from recycled materials such as PET plastic bottles. To date, our Sustainable Edit has seen us recycle, reuse and repurposed in excess of 112,000 plastic bottles to create this range, and we are in no way slowing down.

The Sustainable Edit Collection

Not only do these products help contribute to positive environmental practices, but they also offer quality outdoor wear, sailing wear and other water sports options.

Take a look at our North Hill Jacket and Women’s Whitesand Jacket’s , snug and comfortable products with a synthetic ‘down feel’ construction and each made from an innovative performance yarn constructed from 22 recycled PET plastic bottles. A lightweight and windproof piece of apparel, these jackets are perfect for wearing around the water’s edge to provide that bit of additional layering.

Our Holcombe Crew shirts, in both short sleeve and long sleeve styles are another addition to The Sustainable Edit, offering a base layer for wearers that is both helping the planet (made from PET plastic bottles) as well as incredibly comfortable with it’s soft ‘cotton touch’ fabric and easy-care qualities.

The latest edition to our range is Our Eco Pro Rash Vest , made from 13 recycled plastic bottles which can be worn on and in the water, whilst it’s highly desired 50+ UV protection build into the fabric means you can go all day staying protected from the sun!

Supporting Sustainable Initiatives

We are going beyond just providing quality sustainable products for our customers at Gill. We are also committed to supporting initiatives that help protect the world’s oceans.

Ocean Generation is an inclusive global movement dedicated to enabling a greater sustainable relationship between humans and the world’s ocean. Ocean Generation aims to do this through science and storytelling, helping to spread awareness around the dangers of things like single use plastics and other ocean threats. To help support the fantastic work of our Charity Partner, for every product sold within The Sustainable Edit, we will donate 10% of the proceeds to Ocean Generation.
